Granny Wordsmith: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Granny Wordsmith is a word game made by Diderisoft LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the game does with information about you. The short version: we don't collect anything about you ourselves. Your progress stays on your device. If you choose to watch an ad, Google's ad service sees some information about your device to show it; if you buy something, Apple handles the payment.
What the game keeps, and where
The game saves your progress on your device only:
- streaks, pies, ribbons and coins;
- scores and best words;
- your settings, such as sound on or off.
It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes this information.
What we collect
Nothing. The game has no accounts and no sign-in, and no analytics. We don't collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or any identifier for your device.
Ads
You can watch an ad for an extra Daily Arcade game. Ads appear only when you choose to watch one; Pick of the Day never shows ads. They're provided by Google AdMob. To show an ad, measure it, and prevent fraud, Google's ad software in the app may collect:
- your device's IP address, and from it your approximate location;
- device and app details, such as model, operating system and language;
- how you interact with the ad;
- your device's advertising identifier, only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", it isn't used, and you still get ads and free games.
Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), the game asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change your choice any time in Settings, under "Ad privacy choices". Google's use of this information is covered by Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and its page on how Google uses information from apps that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
Members of Granny's Club never see ads.
Purchases
Coins and Granny's Club are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card or Apple account details. Apple tells the app what you bought so it can add your coins or start your membership. Manage or cancel a membership in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.
Test versions on TestFlight may use free test purchases and sample ads. No money changes hands.
TestFlight
If you test the game through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share with us the information TestFlight provides to developers:
- the name and email address you were invited with, if you were invited by email;
- crash reports;
- device and app version details;
- any feedback and screenshots you choose to send.
We use this only to fix bugs and improve the game. Apple's handling of this information is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Sharing a tree with a friend
When you plant a tree for a friend, the game makes a code from your words. The code is shared only where you choose to share it. We don't receive it.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. We collect nothing ourselves; ads are requested without personalisation where the law or your choices require it.
Changes
Future versions may add accounts, online leaderboards or analytics. Before they do, we will update this policy to say exactly what is collected and why. Any analytics will be privacy-friendly and won't track you across other apps. The date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
